Well, probably everyone reading this Kaththi movie review knows what had happened when the two big names, AR Muragdoss and Vijay had come together in 2012.
Their combo seems to be an amazing one, and the success of their film “Thupakki” released in 2012 revealed just that.
This time, this super combo has joined hands to come up with a film named Kaththi, an action packed movie, which is not only a super entertainer, but also a socially inspiring concept.
Kindly note this Kaththi movie review is not a paid or promoting one and well from our movie addicted heart.
The film gives a neat and clear social message, but doesn’t compromise in the quality of its entertainment factor even at the slightest to do that.
Vijay is seen doing a tricky dual role, and does well with being diverse enough to do comedy, songs, romance, fights and even emotional scenes perfectly well.
The director, besides delivering some really quality entertainment to its audience, has managed to convey some really strong social messages.
These messages focus around the various problems faced by India currently, like famers suicides, multinational companies robbing off poor farmers and exploiting natural resources, scarcity of water and so on.
It also goes on to reveal the massive gap that has been created between the urban and rural areas, all thanks to the corporate sector focusing on their profits only and going the urban way.
The two roles of Vijay are Kathiresan and Jeevanantham. Both are almost the exact opposite of each other.
While Kathiresan is a jailbird, with jail being like his second home, Jeevanantham is a highly active communist and social crusader.
On one hand, Kathiresan and his friend, Satish, are in search of a few bucks by doing some tricky things here and there, Jeevanantham, on the other hand, is seen fighting for a group of villagers from a remote village, whose land is being forcefully and illegally being took over by a money centred person, and chief of a soft drink company.
The story goes on to an even thrilling stage, when the roles of the two exact opposite duals get swapped, with Kathiresan ending up leading the group of villagers while the activist, Jeevanantham, ending up behind the bars!
In the midst of this unfolding of the first half, the director AR Murugadoss managed to touch many critical issues the country is facing today like the plight of senior citizens, massive level of corruption, unjust working of the corporate sector, suffering of the farmers, water scarcity, the hungry and highly influenced media and so on.
The film then highlights the efforts of Vijay in fighting the mentioned issues.
The director, through his planned and perfectly executed approach, has managed to touch the hearts of the movie’s audience by the injustice against the farmers and the inspiring measures taken by Vijay against it.
Now though this all sounds exciting, the film takes almost the whole first half to depict this part of the story, which seems a considerably slow pace.
However, the movie picks up fantastically well during the second half, and impresses its audience with a truly stunning climax.
The songs, on the other hand, doesn’t disappoints and seem enough to keep one involved and fresh.
Kaththi movie review of music:
The film does good enough on the music front as well, with Anirudh’s music turning out to be quite entertainment once again. The song ‘Aathi’ seems to have become a favourite of the audience. George C William too, has done a fantastic job with the camera, making look the Chennai airport really beautiful on the screen. The choreography is done perfectly as well, with Anal Arsasu’s action scenes, especially the coin one, being played really well.

Kaththi movie review of the actors performances:
Now, when it comes to the actors, especially the lead actor Vijay, there’s simply nothing to complain about.
He has done a fantastic job and did perfect justice with both the roles of the con like Kathiresan and the sober society lover Jeevanantham.
This is despite the fact that there was a massive difference between the two roles, and one needed to empty all their emotions in order to get into the mood of the other role.
Samantha does good on the screen as well, with delivering what is expected from a heroine in such a hero oriented movie.
Satish makes up for the otherwise slight scarcity of comedy.
Neil Nitin Mukesh doesn’t disappoint as a villain, and does well with following a perfect lip syncing.
A final wordon our Kaththi movie review:
Overall, Kaththi entertains, inspires and emotionally touches ones heart. The agenda that is followed to hit back the corporate that exploit poor is quite touching and involving. On a whole, you’ll get the feel of the film and won’t regret watching it, as the movie manages to make up well for its sluggish first half.
